| Cadillac sure has changed their image It's hard to imagine seeing WeaselBoy or PhatDaddyG (yes, these are just my nicknames) in a Cadillac ad even five years ago (even if it was a banner ad), let alone when Caddies first came out. It's such a huge difference. It's amazing what companies will do when they're scrambling to stay in business.

It's like they're not even Cadillac anymore. They have a major identity crisis. Their website still seems to give the impression that they're a "luxury" vehicle, but these ads sure don't, and neither does "discount pricing." They're going down the tubes, man.

| By "going down the tubes, man" you mean "trying to sell a car that someone actually wants to own", right? |

| Do you really think people buy Cadillacs for RWD and DOHC?

| No, I mean "trying desperately to convince people that your cars don't suck when compared to imports."
In their hey-day, Cadillac had such a stranglehold that their name itself became synonymous with luxury and quality. Everyone wanted a Cadillac. Now, they're pulling as many strings as they can ("HEY! Gangstas drive Cadillacs!" "HEY! We've got your Escaladies, hip-hop fans!!" "HEY!!! Tiki Barber drives a Cadillac! Don't you like sports?") just to get people interested, let alone buying.

| When buying a car in the Pac NW, things like handling, braking, acceleration and comfort come into play. We see more M3s than we do dubbed Navigators. |

Cadillac's advertising is at odds with a corporate image that they're still trying to hold on to. Look at these little "my Cadillac story" ads at the top of the page (you have to log out) and tell me that that says "Cadillac" to you. There's nothing wrong with wanting to change your image, as such, but it's usually a sign of corporate decline and mad-rush scrambling. Nothing about these ads here says "This is a luxury car."
