| Zombies: Surviving an Attack - Dressing for Survival As per request, the next instalment of Zombies: Surviving an Attack is on clothing/armour.
It's 6:35 am. You've just found out that there is an outbreak of zombies. You've gathered what weapons you have, made a mental note of what weapons you should be able to acquire, and what weapons you hope to acquire. What next? A musical montage of you trying on outfits!
What items of clothing (feel free to include things like helmets and protective gear) do you have that you believe would aid you in surviving a zombie attack?
Out of those items, what would you choose to wear, and why? (If you like, feel free to post a photo of you wearing said outfit)
What would be the ultimate anti-zombie outfit that you could realistically create, and why would you choose those items?
Say you had been prepared for this day months/years in advance. What type of outfit would you have created (no limitations on materials)? Illustrations are welcome and encouraged. |

| I would wear jeans and a hoodie... cause that's me. Probably Vans shoes, and some gloves.
I would say paintball helmet, but if the zombies actually get close enough as to where the helmet would actually come into contact with them, I don't think it would help. |

| One would wear a full gas mask, or atleasta surgical mask to avoid inhaling the zombie vapors that over time could turn oneinto a Zombie.
Also, I would prefer steel-toed boots, incase I had to kick a Zombie. |

| On-hand material:
Steel-toed boots, with a pair of running shoes in a backpack. In said backpack would also be ammo, supplies, whatever.
I'd then break out the full camo, including the belt, carrying at least one canteen and the E-tool. A camouflage hat would be a must, too. Leather gloves would be a must, and I probably would grab a balaclava.
If I could prepare in advance... I'd probably find some leather-type armor. Things like Kevlar would be practically useless, as what zombie's gonna bite your chest? Armor for the arms would be the hardest, but most important, thing to find in advance. Maybe a Kevlar helmet, too, to protect my head from random falling objects (hey, if zombie's attacked, I'm not thinking there's necessarily much structural integrity in some places). Otherwise, the gear I've listed above.
Also, a strong flashlight, extra batteries, and a hand-held radio. |

| Gauntlets. I'ma crush me some zombie heads.
But seriously...I'd probably go for a light layered style; something like most martial arts uniforms (light, long sleeved jacket, light, loose pants), but reinforced with some lightweight leather "armor" underneath, then my track shoes and a pair of heavy bag gloves or similar hand coverings. I actually kind of like the idea of the paintball mask, though I hate having my peripheral vision impaired in any way. So I'm not sure what I'd do for head protection.

| I would favor speed and maneuverability more than ridgidity in shoes. I would want some heavyweight camoflage pants that aren't too baggy. Camo mainly because of extra pockets and heavyweight. I would want a few shirts on because extra fabric always comes in handy. Also I would want an army jacket for the pockets and long sleeves. Weapon wise I would use a good pump shotgun, probaly a .45 because zombies seem to angry for a 9mm, and a snub nose .357 in case the .45 jams. |

| Based on what I own, I would wear a thick long sleeve t-shirt, a thicker hoodie, my ridiculous golf hat (which would provide a small amount of environmental protection to my head and the back of my neck), gloves, good long pants (preferably cargo pants for extra storage space), socks and my skate shoes, for mobility and a small amount of protection from random scratches and whatnot. |

| Best thing to wear would be BDU pants with a tight tee-shirt. Not for camo or anything, but because you want the most amount movement possible while leaving as little to grab as possible. Already-worn-in hiking boots are the best foot gear, possibly with gel insoles. Cut your hair, male or female. Don't completely shave your head, and give up clean shaving for a while, but do keep all hair trimmed to crew-cut level. Armor will not do any good, if they've gotten that close where it matters, they've got you.
Mr. Role Modlin's suggestion isn't that bad, with the exception of the riot-sheild and the police baton. The leg armor should go, though the knee-pads and arm pads may prove useful in manuevering (being able to drop to your knees to crawl under stuff quicker, brushing against walls). Wear only if they do not hinder your movement in the least. Quote: |

Absolutely useless. | I guess I forgot to say BDU's... I guess, in my head, that's what "camouflage" means . I meant BDU's . The "camo" part isn't the big deal, it's the rugged durability of BDU's, plus the plethora of pockets . |
