If you're in a tight situation though, you can pump out alot more shots in less time than a standard shotgun.

"Semi-automatic" shotguns aren't really all that much faster than pump action shotguns. There are a few fully automatic shotguns, but you run the risk of jamming. Best choice would be a pump action streetsweeper.

personally i'd rather take the time to aim my 8 rounds than pull the trigger and waste half of my ten rounds. i wouldn't worry about pump speed that much

i'd imagine it'd be faster to reload individual shells than an entire drum magazine as well.
