| the best setup is the one in which all the musicians can work well together and be equally involved, as well as one that caters to how the congrigation feels about the music. if they dont like alot of drums try just using a djebe. or if they think there is too much rock influence tone the guitars down a bit and use more acoustic strumming instead of heavy electric riffs. it all depends on who you are playing for. which is ultimately God. however i understand that the sound your band is able to produce greately effects its popularity with the congregation. |

I am very excited about forming this team and getting things going. It has been just me on accoustic for a while.
So it looks like we will end up with a similar band as JCF's youth Praise Band. I will be working on figuring out who plays what and how to transition on/off the platform in a relatively simple "early service". It will be nice to expand the worship experience while other instruments continue to play through interludes and speaking opportunities. The only thing we will be missing here is the female vocal.

| my ideal worship band would be two electrics, an acoustic, keyboard, drummer, cello, violin, and a choir.

| My favorite setup is a Lead electric player, acoustic player, two vocalists, a drummer, bassist, and a keyboardist. However, we have gone on as a two-piece before, with an acoustic guitarist, bassist/vocalist, and drum machine.

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. | |
