The Holocaust.

I'm going to write a story that takes place during the Holocaust, and I was wondering if there is any specific site that you guys know of where you can learn more about it and have questions answered. Also, any creative input for the story or just any interesting facts you know about it are appreciated. Don't get too graphic please. Thanks!

This is helpful, but I failed to mention before that I'm really looking more for things in the Nazi's point of view.

I'm not sure where to turn in terms of websites, but a few interesting books and journal articles include the following:

Richard Steigman-Gall, The Holy Reich: Nazi Conceptions of Christianity, 1919-1945 (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2003)
gives a good overview of how Hitler used Christianity as part of his "empire building."

*See also his faculty page at Kent State University

Also, check out the following:

Pridham and Noakes, Nazi Germany, Vol. 1 Allen Mitchell, ed., The Nazi Revolution
Marion Kaplan, Between Dignity and Despair
Donald Niewyck, ed., The Holocaust

Doris Bergen, War and Genocide
Steve Hochstadt, Sources of the Holocaust

The preceeding are available on the syllabus for a course at Loyola University called "Nazi Germany and the Holocaust"

Unfortunately, I haven't read many on that list, but I do recommend anything by Doris Bergen - she's a professor who specializes in the holocaust at University of Notre Dame. See her page for resources.

Hope this helps. I'll admit that it's limited to the crossroads of Christianity and the Holocaust, but I personally believe that this is inseperable from the incident. I'm sure a good Google search will come up with plenty of web resources.

I watched a Google video about home movies made by Hitler's mistress, Eva Braun.. it might be interesting to watch, get some 'insider footage'~ I found it superbly interesting... The title is Hitler's Private World

San Antonio, by Naomi Shihab Nye

Tonight I lingered over your name,
the delicate assembly of vowels
a voice inside my head.
You were sleeping when I arrived.
I stood by your bed
and watched the sheets rise gently.
I knew what slant of light
would make you turn over.
It was then I felt
the highways slide out of my hands.
I remembered the old men
in the west side cafe,
dealing dominoes like magical charms.
It was then I knew,
like a woman looking backward,
I could not leave you,
or find anyone I loved more.
