So what are you doing for that? Do you have a turn and greet song?

haha...generally "turn and greet" means everyone in the congregation does their thing...as a worship team we usually start vamping up for whatever song we're going into after the greets, which this week will be "More Love More Power". I try to adding some jazzy sounding lead work on that song (arpeggios and leads on the neck single with a short timed delay) so I'll probably start working that vibe in during that time.

yeah...we either vamp the previous or the next song...the funny thing is that while I'm marked to play it, our acoustic guitarist is generally the one that starts into it...

one thing that's nice about the turn and greet time is that it gives me some time to just mess around with things and screw around with lead work that I wouldn't actually do during a song...unless I find something really sweet in the turn and greet and just have to work it in...haha

Sometimes my band will go into some jazzy lounge number just for the fun of it.

On April 1st, they got up and walked off stage as an April Fool's joke on me.

Yeah, this is our first time doing it. I'm excited about it. I'm not sure which parts we are cutting yet, though, because 11 minutes would be a little much.

We usually stop it right before "Show me your heart, show me your way..."

It seems like a good break.

I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Anyway - anyone have any good Holy Spirit song selections, seeing as it is Pentecost Sunday?

Well thanks for your support!

We have a large contingent of veterans and several WWII veterans in our church. Our Pastor finds it quite appropriate to do a patriotic hymn on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. The focus on God has not suffered so far.

Besides one of the verses in this hymn keeps things in perspective:

Our Father's God to Thee
Author of Liberty
To Thee we sing
Long may our land be bright
With Freedom's Holy Light
Protect us by thy might
Great God our King.
