hmm. good question. I am learning La Cumparsita (Rodriguez, I believe) and Usher Valse (Koshkin) right now (I'm not really being too studious though. oh well.) but my favorite composer in general is Villa Lobos. I learned a couple of his etudes, and I want to start learning some of the choros fairly soon.

oh also...I started picking up Asturias way back when, and my goal is to learn the entire Suite Espagnola (Albeniz) within the next few years.

Well, I guess you'd call "Classical Gas" a classical guitar song....

But what I really like to do is to try to take popular songs and make them sound classical (E.G. System of a Down's "Hypnotize").

Either Malagena or Romance de Amor.

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight.

I'm working on Villa Lobos' "Etude No. 1" right now, which I'm fairly excited about. It will be a while before I'm proficient at it, however.

I am sure there are plenty of people who like Mangore, even though his name wasn't mentioned. I personally haven't played anything by him, but La Catedral, for example, is a gorgeous piece. I just haven't happened to have worked on it so I won't list it in pieces that I like to play.

Yes I agree with your view, and La Catedral (The 3rd Movement) is one of my favorite pieces to play.

My favorite would be Spanish walts, Spanish Dance, or Spanish melody not sure who they are by, but Christopher Parkening uses them in his book.
