| worship rosters How does your church distribute worship rosters? How do the team members receive the roster? For how many days, weeks or months is the roster set for? |

| Our main church worship team generally distributes a schedule/roster of all who are playing for the next two months with the member it was given to's name highlighted whenever they play/sing. The youth team members each get a schedule about every two months as well, sometimes highlighted, sometimes not.
It seems to work pretty well for us . |

| We don't really have a roster. We have our core band and we have a few people that usually play for the more traditional/blended service that fill in when ever somebody can't be there. |

| Our assistant music minister is trying to get a system set right now for rotating singers in and out. We have a lot of singers and they really need a rotation schedule for them.
We basically have one core drummer and one core bass player. I'm one of 3 electric guitar players and we're usually on a "on 2, off 1" (weeks) schedule with two of us playing each week. The piano player situation, sometimes it seems like it's up in the air. We have one guy who could probably do it all the time, but doesn't. The only other person we have is a teenager (very talented) who may or may not show up for practice and is prone to be late on Sunday morning.
We have 3 acoustic guitar players and I'm not sure how it's decided who gets to play. I think the music ministers put their names on a board and throw darts at it. We're about to lose one of them because he's going to be needed in the youth more next year. On the weeks I don't play I could probably play acoustic with my 12 string, but I haven't brought that up yet. I'm also a 4th stringer soundtech and sometimes they need me to do other things.
As far as having something in hand, we don't have that. I think the singers are eventually supposed to, but not right now. At the beginning of the year all the guitar players were sent a schedule. We electric players pretty much stuck to ours with little deviation from it. The acoustics had some problems. We just look at each other now and go "I guess it's your turn next week and you'll be with so-n-so." Usually the next reply is "yep, guess so." |

| Most of the time we're able to access ours early in the week. In fact, I'll print up my setlist tomorrow if I can remember. |

| A week before the month I'm scheduling, I create a four-week roster that covers six services (four mornings and two evening services). Most team members have most weeks available, so I don't worry about scheduling too far in advance. I think it's a luxury that won't last long, however.
I email it in Word format to all team members and post a copy on the church bulletin board.

| We just started doing a 6 month schedule for all of the team members (band and a/v) and that seems to be working well when the scheduled people actually look at the schedule to see if they're serving that weekend...
I also send out a weekly pre-rehearsal songlist with a reminder of who is on for the coming weekend. |

| we have monthly at my church... and I hate it. It seems to give you not much notice if something comes up and in a couple instances, I have gotten it 2 days before I play. As such, it can be a headache.

| In one church, there is the same band unless someone comes back from university (me or a friend) or someone is away. The music is decided in a planning meeting which projects for about 6-8 weeks I think.
In the other, there are about 6 worship leaders who choose their own bands, and rotate on a rather irregular basis. I don't get it really. Each worship leader picks their own songs (probably in close contact with the worship coordinator). I dunno. I just play bass for one of the bands. |

| Ah, I forgot to add that our songs are chosen on a weekly basis by our worship leader/music director and emailed to us either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings, generally and we practice on Friday's at 8 P.M. |

| Sometimes our setlists are sent a bit late (like as in Thursday evening late). I would like it if it were a consistant "Ok, I'm sending the setlist Tuesday night" every week. |

Late Tuesday night/Wednesday morning isn't great in terms of pre-practice prep (we practice Wednesday nights) when you're at work all day. |
