| To answer your first question, yes, there is a specific way they go in. I can't describe it at all, but if you put them in and blink a few times and feel them sliding around and experience some discomfort, they are probably inside out. Take it out, invert it, clean it, and stick it in again.
The easiest way I know of to get them in at first is to look into a mirror at close range. Focus on your eye, not the contact itself.
