| Pickup Reccomendations I want to buy new pickups, but I don't know what to go for.
I am playing in a bar cover band, and we have a very wide range of tones we need to hit, from Chili Peppers, to Nine Inch Nails, to Chuck Berry, to 311, to the Beatles and so on, so I don't want pickups with a dedicated vintage tone, and I don't want something that are distinctly modern either.
They need to be soapbar and active. |

| 4-string? 5-string? Size? Price range?

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. | |

| Sorry, I forgot to say 5 string. Size, err...isn't soap bar soap bar? If there are different sizes of soap bar pickups let me know and I will find out what I need.
I would like to keep it under $500. |

| After much thought I have decided instead of buying new pickups for my bass I will instead buy a Gibson Thunderbird IV.
