It's in C major, the intro thing is more of a D dorian tonality, but then it shiftes to more of an A minor, but it's all the same.

Haha. Well I was soloing over it in G and it sounded fine..

It would sound fine until you played an F#, which is in the key of G but not C. (which would particularly sound nasty over an Dm chord)
