| Laney Amps A name that I've only seen here....
What would be a good price used?
Are they good amps?
What kind of tubes...
I've got an option on one... (Turned down the Transtube! )

| If you can get a decent price on one, get it. Laneys sound really good.

| Which Laney are you looking at? They vary massively. |

| Guy has an LC 15 that he's not used and not had tubes in for 3 months. Said it worked when he took them out, but selling as is.
I'm cautious....

| Its a reasonable amp. As I remember, it doesn't have a particular character so it sounds more like your pickups that say a Vox or a Fender. Just a slightly fat, compressed crunch when you start to crank it. Its worth having a go/buying if its quite cheap. As for tubes, ecc84's for pre and el84's for power. Apparently. |

Apparently. | they're ecc83s (12ax7) in the preamp. the retube kit (2xEL84, 3x12AX7) from Eurotubes.com is $45.50 + s/h |
