Peavey Transtubes

Any thoughts?

How do they sound, etc...

Curious, got a chance to pick one up at a really good price, but wanted some other opinions on them.

My friend has a Peavey Bandit 112 with the transtubes. I'm currently borrowing it because I need to have some jam sessions at my house and my amp is only good for one person. It actually sounds really good. I've become a big tube nut since getting my hotrod, and I'm not going to recommend a solid state amp over a tube amp, but if you do decide to go down the SS path, Peavey has some good sounding stuff.

Indeed. The Transtube amps (particularly the larger ones like the Bandit) have a reputation for being very good amps for their price range.

Well, my practice amp at home is s VOX DA5. The clean is really good, and I like the Blues model I get from it. I would just like to get something with a bit more power, but I want a good tone. Got a chance to get a Bandit at a good price....

Or should I just sell the DA5 and get me a Valve Jr. ?

I used to have a TransTube I bought 10+ years ago and it sounds like crap. But some of the more recent models I've tried recently actually sound excellent.
