There was a small lake(probably more of a pond) about a mile away from my house growing up, so I used to walk over almost everyday during the summer. The biggest fish I ever caught out of there was a little over 3lbs.
I used to use a lot of different lures, but my favorite lures to use are topwater ones. Pop-R's and frogs are my specialties. Lots of vegetation in Cali, so sometimes all you can to is go over the top.

It's not hard to catch because during pre-spawn they eat anything they see and as much as they can... I've been using anything from worms to spinner bait to jig'n'pigs... There's a creek up here that was damned up back in 1890 so it gets over 20 ft deep at parts and immediately next to it it can be 2 or 3 foot so it's become somewhat of a little known bass heaven... We go over there with a 12ft John boat and have lots of fun... |

I don't fish that much any more because we moved and there aren't that many places. But any chance I get I usually use crank baits and stuff like that. The biggest bass I've caught was about a 4 pounder.

| I fish some. Lures? Whatever I have in my tackle box, I don't have a particular lure. The biggest fish I caught, I'm not really sure, but with every story it probably gets bigger. It's great to go out and fish in a near by creek or something though |

| I love bass fishin......well, actually I just love fishin in general. I try to go once a week to Marsh Creek state park. I think the lake is 500 some acres in size. I've got a few choice spots that I like to hit in the boat though. If I'm hittin a shoreline where there's a lot of vegitation, I'll use a weedless rigged purple worm. Further out where it's deeper, I'll use a mr twister or a crankbait.
I've been taking my 5 year old lately, so I'm missing a lot more strikes that I'd like to.....but it's totally worth it. Biggest bass this season has been a 17 incher I landed on the purple worm. |

| Ah the great outdoors. Bass fishing.
I like to use top water baits at dusk and use spinner baits threw out the day.
I usually hop the fence and fish farm ponds. I really don't catch any bass in any lakes.
The biggest bass I caught was 6lbs. |

| I caught an 18 inch smallmouth bass the othere day. I was using a minnow lure and fishing off the bank. So it was kinda cool to catch him. Put up a good fight. Most of the time on the lake I fish you have to have a boat to catch anything, but I prefer to sit and work the bank. Catfishing is really more my style more relaxation and time to sit and chill and contemplate the world. Plus catfish in my opinion tastes way better.

| I fish 2 I'm new and i was looking for some fisherman. I'm sorry to say that my username really only comes from a play on words because i play bass. The only bass that is possible to be caught where i fish is striped bass. I have never gone fresh water fishing or ever fished in a lake. I live in houston and i fish in galveston. We caught alot of 20"spanish mackeral. A week ago, the fish weren't nibbling. I thought that i wouldn't catch any fish for the day when all of a sudden a 40" thirty pound beast of a red drum tugged at my line. My dad then caught a 29" red drum and a 41" red drum later on. Now, there is nothing but fish in my freezer. Click on the attachment if you want to see the two 40" thirty pounders.

| Hey bass fisher, I live in Lake Jackson and would like to catch some fish for the dinner table. What would you suggest. I am most interested in flounder as I used to eat a lot of flat fish when I lived in Oregon. I have been to the Freeport jetties with out any luck. Ideas on where to go, bait, technique etc.? |

Ideas on where to go, bait, technique etc.? | I haven't caught flounder in a long time. I was fishing whith my uncle about a month ago and he caught a 13" flounder, which really can only serve as a side dish for a family of four. Now that it's cold in east Texas, the flounder are gonna be coming in big. For flounder, i fish in Texas City in the Galveston Bay but you have to get wet.If you accidently catch a red drum, don't through it away if you have the fish tag (the ribbon you put on the tail fin). I never really caught one in the gulf but i know of alot of people and relatives that did. What always worked for me and my relatives was to use shrimp and let in rest on the bottom. Because flounder wait for their prey to pass by while resting flat on the floor, it wouldn't hurt to slowly reel in you bait so that it could pass in front of a flounder. |
