Qn about US schools

Which tv or movie most closely resembles the American High-School??

As a foreigner, i see a lot of movies and stuff and i was wondering which was closest. Is there really lots of pushing and stuff in the corridors?? Do you have corridors?? At my school we didn't really have any like on the tv

there is no movie in reality that could ever show an american high skool. everything is portrayed wrongly in some way or shape or form. but i would guess the closest would be varsity blues. kinda, some parts r not really what happens. but for the most part its pretty on key i would say

LOL! i know i'm in Canada but our school is getting more Americanized! haha but i dont care! its fun!

and yeah, Varsity Blues is kinda like what ours is like

except theres a LOT of things totally different

in my school, our teachers and staff are really relaxed
ie. if i were to skip, no one would know, nothing would change
basically, its your own loss type deal. like university

and unfortunately the whole sex and drugs thing IS there, REALLY there

but we are fortunate to have Impact at our school (a Christian group that meets every week)

sports are a BIG deal in my school. we are really big so we have some top athletes.

marching bands is definately an area where Canada and the US's HS's differ!!!!!!!!!!! haha our teacher for music in grades 6-8 used to teach high school band in the states and she MADE us so good!! (just reg. bands - not marching) we were better than the high schools and playing songs that theire grade 12 bands were playing! hahaha! but yeah, i stopped band when i got to high school...i liked art better

what was the question again? hahaha

Oh, and do you have Proms like in that movie "She's All That"?

Do people actually want to be Prom King and Queen?

Those things make me laugh.

Haha...um...yes proms do exist. While I think they're fun, they can be anticlimatic, especially if you go to more than 1 in 1 year. I myself went to one my junior yr and one my senior yr and had a lotta fun even though it was a lot of money.

as far as prom king and queen go, I definitely don't speak for all schools in the US but I'd venture to guess that the whole idea of prom king/queen is turning into a high school legacy.
