Well, jeffrey, when you wrote that private comment to me I hope you were referring to a donkey being a valuable commodity and not being base, and as to an embarrassment to the faith, what faith? In my faith I'm told not to be base or coarse ( whether using stars or not) and frankly the fact that you teach at a Christian school, yet being publicly profane concerns me.
Yes, God is consistency, timeless, immortal but not logical in the common sense. God, and the Christ on earth repeatedly directed, and directs, the believer to do the illogical. Don't be dragging the moribund beliefs of atheists and tying it to a boundless living God. The point being, allowing yourself to be bound to the paradigm of deductive logic makes you faithless. It may be fine for determining why your automobile engine is misfiring, but not for determining the difference between, say, societal rules or acts of faith.
Someday when your older I'll share with you why too much theology is a bad thing.
