"Best Score of all time vs. Actual High Score" what?

Ok, so I'm playing Panda Golf...and sumbitted a score that's #4 on the list of high scores. But, when I go to the game it says "Best Score of all time" and then gives me...but the "Actual Highscore Champion is someone else...who's way ahead of me. What's the difference in the two?

EDIT: it just changed to someone who had a lower score ??? Oh, and what about ties? I beat the game and now there are two of us with a score of 103...I'm listed higher on the High Score board but he still has the title of "Champion"...It took me nearly an hour to beat that.

I wonder about that too.. but check time played. That may be part of it. If you get it done faster than anyone else you may get top player.. or high score.. or something else.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you about this, I don't normally check the Arcade fourm

The high score champion is the best score that's ever been achieved in that game, throught out the history of the CGR arcade. The best score of all time has to do with the tournaments.

The highest score in a tournament gets the honor of the highest score of all time. If, while not playing in a tournament, you beat that score, you become the highest score of all time. However, everytime a tournament of that game is started, it re-sets the highest score.

Clear as mud?

i think you're listed as higher because you're newer, but the first person in a tie retains the title. As far as I know, I'll always be the high score champion in Galaxians.

okay, correct me if i'm wrong:
every time a tournament of that game is started, the best score of all time gets reset. the actual highscore stays until someone beats it.

and as for ties, i reckon it's time.

what's the similarity bettween a chav and a slinky? they're both pointless but it's fun watching them fall down the stairs.
