| so there's this girl who writes poetry... ... and that girl is me.
Typically I make free verse poetry, but some of them actually rhyme, haha.
Decided to make a thread with all my poetry in it. Here we go! (from the oldest to the most recent) Sorry there are so many/the post is so long, but if you feel like reading all of it, go for it!
By the way, all of this is (RC) if you feel like critiquing.
+++++ Said She
"Uninspired" said she
To the pen and
To the paper
"Be inspired" said they
And so she wrote
"Uncapable" said she
To the task that
Was ahead of her
"Be capable" said it
And so she did
"Unjoyful" said she
To the audience
Before her
"Be joyful" said they
And so she danced
"Unhopeful" said she
To the star
That was above her
"Be Hopeful" said it
And so she dreamt
"Unseen" said she
To the darkness
That surrounded her
"Be seen" said it
And so she shone
+++++ Drifting In and Out
Drifting in and out of consciousness
She wearily closes her eyes
In hopes that sweet dreams
Will bring the one she loves
Close to her
What pure love!
How innocent her young and hopeful heart!
Her love for him is for him alone
No other can merit it
Her heart is devoted to him
And knows no other
His love for her penetrates her soul
And warms her inner being
With each word he utters
Her eyes shine and her face glows
No other can make her feel so over-joyful!
No other can touch her heart more tenderly
He sings to her
A sweet lullaby
A lullaby to her heart
A heart which aches with love for him
The love they share can be understood by none but them
Yes, others can see how much they love one another
Who couldn't?
Their love shines so brightly
It could light a dark and hopeless world!
But none other than the two can feel it
Only they can feel the warmth and passion
Only they can feel the happyness which knows no boundaries
Their love is brilliant, admirable, and rare
All who see it desire it!
But only the two can possess it
Drifting in and out of consciousness
She excitedly opens her eyes
Searching for her love, the one who
belongs to her
But wait! No, she is alone
As alone as she was when she drifted to sleep
For it was a dream
A dream and nothing more
+++++ Never Say Goodbye
And when I see you again
You'll be the angel in my dreams
The light I haven't seen
In a long, long time
And when you take me in your arms
It'd be the moment I could die
And I'll never say goodbye
Ever again, no, no, never again
+++++ Love, Hopless Love
Crimson heart
Stained with
Love, hopeless love
Wandering mind
Filled with
Love, hopeless love
Never forgetting
Always believing
That love, hopeless love
Will find a way
Because love is all
That is left
+++++ Hopeful Memories
Walking Backwards
While time moves forwards
Seeing nothing
Yet feeling everything
Wordlessly whispering
To the unseen
Who hears everything
Waiting for something
But not knowing what
Closing phantasmagoric eyes
And drifting to a place
In the mind
A place known by all
But named by none
Where anything is possible
But everything is a dream
+++++ You
You're in my dreams
You're in my prayers
You're in my heart
You're in my head
I miss you bad
So please come back
So I can just
See you again
I'll stay right here
I'll wait for you
And I won't go
No, I won't move
Come back to me
Until you do
I will not leave
'Cause I love you
+++++ A Cold Heart
Morning breaks, but your heart stirs not
For it died sometime in the night
When did your heart grow cold, love?
Here, I'm giving you mine.
+++++ I'll Be The One
Where hope has faded and love is lost
Let me be the light in your eyes
If you can't pray for yourself, I'll pray for you
Where joy was once present, but now is not found
When you are the one who silently cries
I'll be the one there to hold you
Where a heart is filled with nothing but pain
And you start to mumble last words and goodbyes
I'll be the one who revives you
+++++ Ignorant
He claims he has no purpose
He sings his worries away
He sits there turning to nothing
But once he was so great
It didn't get much lovlier than him
Now his heart makes you weep
It's the fact that he's damned that hurts you
He's the reason you cry yourself to sleep
What if he died in ignorance?
What if you never told him?
Can love really conquer all?
Can it save him from his sin?
Look at him in his shallow eyes
Tell him the whole truth
Pray he'll listen, pray he'll hear
But we he actually believe you?
Stop dancing around the idea
Do what you're meant to do
Reach out, show him love
Maybe someday he'll thank you
+++++ The Boy and His Piano
Every touch of a key
Awakens a memory
And as I close my eyes
I remember...
The notes soaring
The romance of a melody
Pouring from your heart
And as you sit there
With your passion
The love affair begins...
The way your fingers
Glide over the piano
You make it alluring
You make it beautiful
Your soul sways
It is one with the music
And over your lips
Flows the song of adoration
It's love you compose
The pure ecstasy of your being
Is shown through the
Tips of your fingers
The music swoons me
The emotions consume me
The boy bewitches me
The boy and his piano
And as I sit here
With my fingers on the keys
The keys that your
Fingers once touched
I can't help but be happy
I can't help but remember
How much I loved you
The memory of you
I'll keep for forever
The reason I play
Is you...
+++++ There's Always A Chance
A fleeting glance of the eyes
I saw a shine, a glimmer
I saw something beautiful
In the eyes of my love
And suddenly, I'm filled with hope
I believe there is a chance
I just pray that we have time
Lord, let there still be time!
And somehow, someway, someday...
You will see the light again
+++++ Pursuit of A Heart
Curious and maybe a bit fearful
If I looked into your heart
What would I see?
Would it be beautiful?
Or would it be a tragedy?
Would I see the love of a boy?
Or the hatred of the world?
Can you show me your true self?
I'm waiting here patiently
I'm waiting for you to trust me
When you open up to me
I promise I won't hurt you
I promise I won't run
It'll be what I've been waiting for
What I've been longing for
So take your time
I'm not going anywhere soon
As long as it takes
I'll be right here when it happens
I want to see your heart
I want to know who you really are
+++++ Jealousy Is Real
I can see why you love her
She's a beautiful girl
I can see why you think of her
As your whole world
I understand why your heart skips
Whenever she speaks
I understand why you'd get up
To give her your seat
I can see why you're happy
Whenever she's around
But God, I've never felt
Real jealousy until now
+++++
the end! I'll keep posting new ones in here... |

| ok, so I wrote this one tonight, I'm not sure if I like it or not... it doesn't seem like it's really "me" (actually, it even seems a little forced and not like it flowed, if you know what I'm talking about) But I'll share it with you guys... it's RC if you want to contribute your thoughts.
I have a book where I write all my poetry, so depending on if this one grows on me or not, it may get a place in the book or it may be rejected by me Here I Go Again
I thought I could forget you
It turns out I was wrong
And here I go crying again
I can still see your face
When I hear that song
And here I go smiling again
My emotions overflowing
I'm tearing at the seams
And here I go crying again
I can still feel your touch
It finds me in my dreams
And here I go smiling again
I thought I could forget you
It turns out I was wrong
And oh God... here I go crying again
+++++
I dunno.... what do you think? |

| I like the last one. It has a lot of emotion in it, but you're right. It does seem forced.

here's a new one...
+++++ And Don't It Feel So Good
Lasting impression
Secret obsession
And don't it feel so good
Hopeless connection
Without expression
And don't it feel so good
Tears of agression
Scars of affection
And don't it feel so good
Endless depression
This my confession
And don't it feel so good |

You're pretty good at filling your poems with emotion.

| This one is actually a song, but it doesn't have a set melody, so really it's just a poem. Or you can call it lyrics. Whatever. It's a group of words that flowed from me. It doesn't really have a steady rhyme either... so it's pretty free verse.
+++++ I Can't Make You Love Me
I can't make you love me
I can't make you see
What you're doing to me
You make me weak at my knees
When I look into your eyes
Oh, Darling, please
I can't make you miss me
As much as I miss you
I can't make you kiss me
What I long for you to do
I can't make you love me
The way I love you
+++++

+++++ Love, Please?
I will breathe in the life
That you left behind
Then maybe I'll understand
I will sing to myself
A soft lullaby
Love, would you please grasp my hand?
I will keep my eyes closed
And shatter my heart
Just to feel what you went through
I will show you I care
Love, I'll mend your heart
Can I be the one who you run to? |

| ok. here's another one. a rather depressing one, but i like it.
+++++ No Words
A vacant stare
His eyes upon mine
No words, I knew too well
He didn't have to speak to say
"Baby, it's gonna burn, burn, burn."
Stop everything. I looked away.
Laying in a million pieces
My heart is on the ground
Was I a fool to let him hold it?
Slowly, heartache flows down my cheek
One by one, drop, drop, drop...
And I knew tonight, there'd be no sleep
What happened?
Seduction, silence, sadness
I thought, I believed it was love
Maybe it just wasn't what was meant to be
But someday I'll find the one, the one, the one...
I'll find a boy who loves me
But for now
I'll simply close my eyes
Yes, I'll choke out the words "I forgive you"
You stole away my life, and tortured my dreams
But as I walk away, away, so far away...
I think, "Thank God I still have self-esteem." |

It is depressing but it still caught my eye and I like it. It brings out the feelings with out being specific. |

| This is subject to change cause I just finished writing it.
Anyway, this isn't about anybody. It's sort of Song of Solomon-ish I suppose...
It's just something I would die to have my (future) husband to recite to me...
+++++ Lady of The Luna
Be it time to slip into the darkness?
Tonight you robe yourself with stars
With the light of luna in your eyes
You lightly place your hand in mine
A gown of luminescence adorns your body
The dew of the night
Delicately glosses your lips
Your tresses hold the last glimmer of sunset
The softest, the most divine
You smile sweetly brushes against my face
Whispers of heartstrings
Flow to my desirous heart
I love you, I love you
My lady of the luna
You are the song in my soul
And the one I adore
+++++
What do you think of the "whispers of heartstrings" line? That the one that is the most likely to be changed unless I decided I really like it.... |

| It's interesting that you refer to the Lady of the Luna. My friend wrote a song that starts "Lady Luna's out tonight", and proceeds to talk about his love affair with the moon. I don't think that was the direction you were going, but it's interesting.
