should i get this case for my spider II?

in terms of capability and fitting, i'm sure it works but does anyone have any experience with these amp cases?

i suppose its good for the money. but maybe TOO good. they advertise to be pretty sturdy and whatnot but yeah, just double-checking with CGR!

also anyone know any other retailers that sell amp cases?

What do you need the case for? I've never found much use for an amp case, mainly because I'm not a gigging musician, therefor my amps don't travel that much. Are you going to be schlepping that amp around enough to warrant a case?

Get some casters and screw them to the bottom of your amp. Or use a luggage carrier.

I'd look into Crazy Cases ( http://stores.ebay.com/CrazyCaseStore ) before I used NY Case Co. NY Case Co. goes by another 3 names at least on Ebay. They sell the same things, but call themselves 3 different names. Same address, same phone number, same people. That's a little shady to me. The cases from Crazy Cases also have recessed handles that come standard and not the surface mount ones that NY Case uses even AFTER you pay for the ATA upgrade. I bought this case for my Classic 30. I paid for the full foam lining, the caster set and also coloring my case blue. Total with shipping and everything was $172.85 and it only took about a week to get it. Even if they don't list your amp I would email them and ask about it as pretty much all of the case companies will make one to the size you need.

The Spider II isn't a heavy amp.

Exactly. It's one of the lightest 1x12 combos available, probably weighing less than an electric guitar in it's case.

Plus, for $75 (case + shipping) you could probably put that towards a practice rig for home and leave the Spider at church if it's safe there.
Then you'll have 2 amps!

yep...if it's that big of an issue, get casters for the amp itself. I'd either get the casters that have a brake on them so the amp doesn't roll away, or the kind that pop out easily.

getting a case to go to and from church that costs nearly as much as the amp itself seems really silly to me.

I personally use a good ol' folding luggage cart for my amp (which is around 60 lbs). Quite handy, really, and just $20ish.

If that's the case (pun intended), you shouldn't get it. It won't make it any lighter and outweighs ('nother pun) any benefit that I can see - unless you're shipping it all over the place, which is not your intent.

Or, get a roadie to do the job!!!

yeah you guys are right, spider II isn't really a heavy amp compared to a lot of other ones, maybe ill just save the money towards my ac15cc, and after i get that, i'll most definintely buy a case for that because it's such a beauty

I think amp cases are a waste of time, it has a handle to carry it by from the car to church, and it should be fine in a trunk or backseat without a case.

Unless your planning on doing a world tour sometime soon.
