<marquee>LOOK BACK...on history, nothing much has changed, THOUSANDS...of soldiers of all countries, all marching the same. Every nation's leader says that our side is right. Every nation's leader says the time has come to fight, but they use the common people, to settle their scores. It's time that we refuse to fight in any of their wars! We're looking to start a new kind of army, (that's) too smart to fight, too smart to die; we're looking to start a new kind of army, (that's) too smart to fight, too smart to kill...for you! JOIN NOW...the ranks of all nations who refuse to go to war REFUSE...to pull the trigger of a gun for leaders 'round the world. I'd rather fight to spread some tolerance and unity than buy into their nationalistic brainwashing, killing mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, common human beings, not savages but people, like you, like me! We're looking to start a new kind of army, (that's) too smart to fight, too smart to die. We're looking to start a new kind of army, (that's) too smart to fight, too smart to kill...for you! We're looking for a few good men; we're looking for a few good womyn, who are not afraid to fight against tyranny but refuse to fight...with tyranny...REFUSE!!! -- Anti-Flag </marquee> |

| Yeah, I do speech and debate.
Events vary from state to state, but I do:
Expository -
10 minute informative speech on a certain topic; audio and visual aids are allowed. Because you talk about such boring things, you've got to have good delivery, good jokes, and good visual aids. One of the most fun events.
Duo Interpretation -
10 minute speech interpreting some piece of literature or a play or something like that. Two people, who can't touch each other or look at each other. Fun stuff as well, but if you go really hardcore, the synchronization of movement with your partner can kill you.
Oratorical Interpretation -
10 minute speech written by a famous dead guy. Boring but easy. Heh.
Lincoln-Douglas Debate -
One-on-one debate about moral values, ethics, political philosophy, etc. Tough stuff...policy is more fun, but way too easy. |

| Hello, my fellow speechies!!! Woo Hoo!! This is cool. I was in speech for 2 years, then in debate my junior and senior years. We were state champs from 94-98, then state runner up in 99 and 00(you would have thought the world came to an end when we got 2nd in 99. everyone was so sad). Then last year we got first again, and I just got back from judging this year and we got 2nd again. While in speech, I did prose, original oratory(kind of exactly what it sounds like), foreign extemp(loved it), and Lincoln Douglas. I also dabbled in policy debate a little, but I always preferred LD.
