| Let me guess....you're from Texas?
Many states have a large Christian college or two, and most have half a dozen or (sometimes many) more small Christian colleges. I'm from a smaller one called Hope College in Holland, Michigan http://www.hope.edu

| Well, what school would be good for you largely depends on what you want to study, right?
And don't discount non-christian colleges if there's a strong Christian group present on campus. I'm attending a public university but I'm very involved at the church here (heck I live here), so all in all it's probably a more powerful faith environment and community than I would have at a Christian college. But to each his or her own
Also, is there a particular denomination you'd like to be affiliated with? If you're Catholic then Bob Jones University or Pensacola Christian is probably NOT for you

#4 | | Algebraic! | When looking at big Christian colleges, beware of their campus environments. I know that TCU has a reputation for basically being a private secular school.
ORU has been criticized in the past for having an emphasis on non-biblical theology, particularly that of the "Word of Faith" which teaches that health and prosperity is promised to those who have faith. This might just be because of the school's namesake as Oral Roberts was known for teaching about this gospel of prosperity.
I would go to a bookstore that has some Princeton Review books on colleges and sit down and read through them. Don't pick a school based on Christian reputation alone, but actually look into the schools beyond their religious affiliation. |

I'm Columbia International University (a Bible college). When we get upset about the "Christian Living Standards" they impose on us, we head over to the BJU website and read their standards. It always makes us feel better. |

Website listing all the christian colleges/univeristies by state, with their website links....
Good luck!!!
I'm not endorsing any of the colleges on there, I'm especially NOT endorsing Bob Jones University (a friend of mine went there and got expelled for going to see an R rated movie and go caught), or Pensecola Christian College (the teachers at my christian school had to attend summer classes there to get hired, I've heard the atrocities of that school) |

You arbitrarily decided that there is only one of their unbiblical rules you don't approve of? You approve of rules which up until very recently forbid interacial dating? |

Like most Christian colleges they have Christian living standards. They are notorious for having the most strict standards. Until the year 2000 BJU forbid interracial dating. I don't know if its still the case, but for a long time Pensecola had blue and pink sidewalks...one for guys and the other for girls. They couldn't walk down the same sidewalk. They also don't allow you to date without a chaperone. And the ever popular, staring into the eyes of a member of the opposite sex, called by students "eye kissing", "optical intercourse", or "making eye babies", is discouraged by the administration
Their rules are far more represenative of southern moralism than any Biblical form of sactification.
Their Wikipedia articles can tell you a good amount about the controversies and their current standards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Jon...#Controversies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pensaco...ollege#Regimen

#14 | | Algebraic! | +1 to Sean's comment. They're beyond what seem like common Christian college rules like "no guys in the girls' dorms except on co-ed dorm days" and "no excessive PDA" to the point where I've heard at least one story of a married couple getting expelled from PCC for holding hands.
it should also be noted that PCC is not an accredited school. I would highly recommended not going there on that basis alone if you want your degree to count for anything in the secular job market.
I will say this though...I found the A Beka Book cirriculum...at least for K-6 education, to be very good at teaching the fundamentals of learning. |
