| you probably wont hear too much difference. if you love your fulldrive 2 then i say just keep it. but if you have the money, might as well a/b compare the 2 and return/sell the one you like less |

I love my J&H. Never played a Fulldrive 2, so I can't compare 'em. |

| I've never played a fulldrive, but I owned a J+H, and it was freakin amazing! It doesn't have to be a one or the other option. You could just have both.

| If you're switching to analog, why get rid of the FD2? All of FullTone's effects are analog... aren't they?!?!?
Even if they're not.. why would you get rid of it? Never get rid of gear that you love because you think something else might sound better. |

| I totally respect the opinions of everyone here, but, while CGR's tend to love the J&H because of the versatility of it and because it can be had rather inexpensively, the FD-2 is one of the most popular pedals in existence and is generally held to be of a higher quality than the J&H. They definitely do different things, as the J&H can achieve more gain and distortion than the FD-2, but I think if you're looking for a mild overdrive to push your amp, the FD-2 is one of the best options available. If you're looking for higher gain sounds, than the J&H is probably a better option.

| well I'm just using the clean channel of my peavey classic 410 with the fd2....I play alot of CT, Hillsong stuff, but I want to play heavier songs like Jeremy Camp and Kutless....I'm also considering the Rt. 66 for its compressor/nice overdrive...maybe I'll just buy the rt. 66 and j&h and compare everything =] |

| Why not just get a distortion or fuzz to pair with your Fulldrive? You've already got the Tube Screamer side of the J&H covered with the Fulldrive, and the Hyde side is supposed to be similar to a Marshall Governor. So you could try something like a ProCo RAT if you like that sound for example.

| I've played em' both, and I love the Fulldrive 2 much better. Much more crisp, better sounding than the Jekel. The Jekel is more of a Distortion pedal, and not an overdrive. If you want a Visual Sound OD, then get the Route 66, that is much better.
I still stay stick with the Fulldrive though, because that is so solid. I totally regret getting rid of mine, as I'm looking into getting another one.

Anyway, to echo what's been said, the FD2 and the J&H are really two different things on the whole. |

I'm trying to think of a better explanation.

| I own the J&H, and while I think it's a great pedal, I'm going to go with what a few other posters are saying: keep the FD2 and add something else for the heavier stuff. I've never played the Fulldrive but have shared the stage with a couple of guys using them. They really are nice sounding pedals (not that the J&H isn't - just different). For $80 - $90 used, you could try a J&H and see how it sounds with the FD2.
As a side note, I understand that Visual Sound is debuting some new pedals later this year. One is supposed to be a stand alone compressor (the same one that's in the Rt.66) plus a new OD pedal. They are also rehousing the J&H, Rt. 66, and H2O into slightly smaller boxes (same basic shape). |
