| =) Well, it's official!
I asked Sarah, my girlfriend of 2 years 9 months and 9 days, to marry me last night and she said "Uh huh" and then "Yeah" lol. When I went down on one knee she burst into (happy) tears and had her face in her hands. That made me laugh so I laughed the question out and she nodded her had and choked out "Uh huh" but it was the happiest "Uh huh" I've ever heard . Then I gave her a hug and she said, "Yeah...yes! Yes! YES!" Then we took a picture, which I attached.
The date is tentatively penciled in for May 16, 2008. We have to confirm the pastor and the church as well as the reception location, but that's the date we'd like.
So yeah, I feel on top of the world right now!

You look beautiful together. And older. I bet she's thrilled to make it "official". We're looking at getting married around then next year as well. Good luck waiting. |

| Just a quick update: we booked the church for Friday, May 16, 2008 . We have the reception hall penciled in but will visit it in person before we confirm (she has been there before for other events, I have never been).
Her aunts are crafty so we will hire them to do the invitations, wedding favors (stained glass), and flowers.
Right now the guest list is about 115 but it could go higher or lower. That list includes entire families but we might ask families with small children to leave them with a sitter. Does anyone with experience know if this is mean?
Gettin' excited!

| with my wedding, we let families bring their kids if they wanted to. We found that for the most part families with small children opted to take them to a sitter anyway.
what's the significance of May 18th? |

Also, my brother (who will be my best man) is in drum corps and leaves until mid-August at the end of May. Since we have to be back to school by then and don't want to overlap a wedding with a graduation open house, mid-May works the best for us.
Incidentally it's also like 2 weeks after our anniversary, which by then will be our 4th anniversary.
So the actual date has no significance other than it's mid-May which is the best time for us
