Looking for a Vocal Microphone

Hey there,

I recently got a Presonus Inspire 1394, and my guitar sounds great direct or through my amp mic'ed using a vocal dynamic microphone, however, I find that the same microphone lacks in the vocal department, losing a lot of my tone and making things sound slightly more muddy. So, I'm looking for either ways to fix this or a new microphone. I have exactly $100 to spend.

Please note that I know really nothing about microphones. I know the difference between dynamic and condenser, but I've never be able to compare the two. Thanks for any help!

Or something like that.

A large diagphragm condenser is typically my favorite mic on vocals (dynamics can sound good too though depending on the singer). As far as specific recomendations in your price range, I don't know too much unfortunately. A lot of people are impressed by some of the Studio Project mics. Audio Technica mics are pretty decent, and Rainer has some MXLs that sound great (with proper placement and EQ of course).

I'll let someone else make some specific suggestions though.

I've used the MXL 990 with decent results, I've heard good things aobut the AKG Perception 100 as well.

Actually, i've heard wonderful things about that Samson mic...http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/C03usb/

BUT, it doesnt appeal to me much that is USB. I have never used it though. If I were to buy one online, it'd be an AKG perception.
