Friend passed away in an accident

A very good friend of my, Bob, passed away in a very bad accident yesterday morning. Just found out about it less than an hour ago. Being a firefighter I had been listening to the whole accident at my station on the scanner and then the this morning found out it was Bob that passed away.

Bob was also a firefighter and had been going through a separation/divorce with his wife. He started coming to my church and my bible study about 3 years ago. He had become very close through this time since we shared a lot of the same interest. Praise the Lord he is with his Savior now!

His wife and children had not spoken to him in over a year. Please pray for Jenny and the children and grandchildren. I pray that through this time they may come to know the Lord. Last week when I was praying with Bob he prayed that the Lord do what ever was needed to bring his children and wife to know the Lord - even if it harmed him. I guess this may be an answer to his prayers.

Wow, I am very sorry for your loss, but at the same time I pray that Bob's prayer will be answered. I will pray that his wife and kids will come to know Christ as their Lord and Savor, and somehow see that Bob's death was not in vein. I am inspired by Bobs selflessness in that he prayed for his wife and kids salvation, even if it costs him his physical body.

I will pray that you will have peace as well.

In His Grace,
John

Thanks for the prayers. Please pray for me tomorrow, I have a reading and prayer during memorial service. Plus my departments unit will lead the procession. Pretty nervous about all of this, but know that the Lord will give me the strength.

Thanks for the prayers. Things went really well. The service was beautiful and the gospel was presented clear as day through the testimony of Bob's life.

Was able to meet the 2 men the attempted to get Bob out of his truck before it exploded and caught fire. They where having a really hard time with the whole thing, but after learning Bob was a believer they said they have a great peace. Both are brothers and came to Christ and young men. Both admitted they had walk away from the Lord over the last 10 years, but recommitted their lives to the Lord today.

It was a roller coaster of a day - but an uplifting one.

Again thanks for all the prayers through this!

Wow... That's a beautiful picture of how God can take a horribly tragic event and make some good out of it. That story of those two men really touches me. That's just amazing. God is good, even when life is crashing down around us, and in whatever storms we go through.

God bless!
