I'm not sure if I should answer the question or ask the OP why they're yelling...

I believe this is what you meant anyway: http://www.carmemories.com/cgi-bin/t...submitter=2110

Doesn't this thing weight something like two-and-a-quarter tons?

Next!

I mean, seriously, cornering in a 4500-pound live-axled car is not my definition of an exhilarating drive.

What does the big red button do... launch the missles or something. I suppose that it is the emergency flashers, but it is quite large and intrusive.

Yeah, I'll agree, doesn't look like a very fun car in the twisties, but I've yet to see any other stock motor car pull 9's...

In fact, bolt ons, tires , 75 shot (somethin like that), maybe a ported blower, 9.96's in the quarter.

Dunno bout you guys, but that sounds fun to me.

how many bolt ons, and how much weight did they strip out of the USS Nimitz... err gt500.

honestly, so stinking heavy FTL. Any car that is heavier than a 3000GT VR-4 Spyder = mad weaksauce, I don't care how many thousands of horsepower it has (i'm also looking at you bugatti)

I agree with that assessment of the Veyron, Baron. In terms of weight transfer and loading the outer tires in turns, weight just kills cornering ability. Those 1,000 horsepower may sound and feel good but you'll still be outmaneuvered by a 200-something hp Elise. Depending on the track, that's all that matters.

Dude, you guys are starting to remind me of the Nintendo fan boys in the Video Games forum.

Who cares if it weighs a tad much, and isn't built to corner very well. It CLEARLY wasn't designed to do so. The Ford GT, it was, the Ford Mustang, it wasn't. So why complain about it if that's not even what it was made for. I don't many people saying the F-150 doesn't do particularly well on the track, for obvious reason, it wasn't meant too.

The new Shelby is pretty much a Supra by Ford. Stupid amounts of power easily made in a very very tough motor. Only thing is these cars actually go down the 1320 pretty well compared to Supra's.

*edit*

Found the video for you guys. Intake, exhaust, pully, 75 shot and a tune. 9.96 @ 141

It's made to blow other cars away on the open road. Being heavy and having a lot of brute force will do an awesome job of it.
I have a lot of problems with the newer generations (Chrysler 300, H2, H3, new Mustangs, Charger, etc.) that have such a seemingly claustrophobic quality. I can appreciate the fits-like-a-glove feeling that having such a snug ride can give a driver, and how that makes one feel like they are one with the road. But it seems like this new trend sacrifices visibility, or at least places the ability of the driver to see more on the back burner.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. But I am the resident Mustang fanboy.

300 claustrophobic? My parents have an 06 and it is one the most spacious cars I have ever driven/ridden in. And that's coming from someone who is 6'3" and 230 lbs.
