How do they do that?

My friend Hayley was telling me about a time when she was at school and she out of the blue started witnessing to her friends one day. She just started with the question, "Do you know you're going to Heaven when you die?" Just like that. How do some people have the courage to do that?

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight.

That's a hard question to answer. I can do that with people I already know, but with total strangers, it's still a bit hard for me.

Picture this: Every person walking by you in the hall right now is going to go to hell for the rest of eternity, if you don't talk to them. What's a little akwardness when this is eternal life at stake??

On the other hand, it's not for everyone. God had called each one of us to a different part of the body, and on-the-street evanglism may not be your calling.

If God wants you to do it, he will give you the strengh to do it, when He tells you too.

Also, knowing your Bible (and in my case, the book of Mormon) inside and out really helps. I know that I can usually find what I'm looking for, and that really helps with the nervousness.

God give us all opportunities, the trick is to recognize them. I used to work with a very diverse group of people and I was the only Christian. When the topic of religion came up (and it did often among us) I was given the opportunity to shows God's love to an orthodox Jew, several Buhddists and Muslims, a Daoist and 4 Hindus. The conversations were always lively and we each learned about other views. Our biggest disagreements were always about where to go for lunch.

I kinda disagree with Katze. My youth pastor says his spiritual gift is not witnessing. But as Christians, we all have the responsibilty to tell those who don't know. If I have a much loved family member who doesn't know, that person is going to be screaming my name from Hell for an eternity. And I'm going to wish I had told them earlier, regaurdless of my talents and gifts.
Witnessing is not my spiritual gift, either. But I still do it. And I still succeed. And I'm getting better at it, too.
