Cooking on the cheap

So things have been a little tight financially, and though it should work out alright, I do need to watch my spending. And, surprise surprise, grocery bills are the easiest ones to cut in my case.

Anyway, I'm trying to think of ways to spend less on food (not that I spend a whole lot at the moment, maybe $60/month) and still eat reasonably well. So far, the staples in my diet include...
-Cream of wheat
-Muffins (from mix)
-Scrambled eggs/omelettes, depending on my mood
-PB&J sandwiches
-Lunch meat sandwiches (a relative rarity)
-Pasta (usually normal stuff, but occasionally they sell packages of Lipton Sidekicks at the dollar store)
-Stirfry (usually vegetable)
-Chili
-KD
-Rice
-Tuna
-Cereal, should I find it on sale
-Whatever canned stuff my parents buy lots of and then don't like/stuff certain awesome American buddies send /whatever free meals cross my path

I do buy milk and stuff, but I try to limit it to an accompaniment for coffee.

Anyway, suggestions are quite welcome, whether it be meals or other ways of cutting costs in this area. I am really not very skilled and I don't have anything too fancy. Pots, a frying pan, a ridiculously large wok (blame Ikea), cookie sheets, a muffin tin... upgrades are coming over the summer, but for now, that's about it.

For meat, whole chickens can be had pretty reasonably priced...I've gotten them at $.69 / lb, and gotten 8 meals out of a 5-6 lb. chicken.
