Yeah, but that's the thing. BTA is not a metalcore band, and shouldn't be thought of as such. They're a pure death metal band with progressive influences and a strong undertone of melody throughout. They're probably the most unique popular metal band in the Christian music industry right now. But, regardless, the clean vocals that BTA uses are much different from what you hear in metalcore nowadays. I find them to have a little more range than the average metalcore clean vocalist and some good use of vibrato. That and they use the clean vocals much more sparingly than most metalcore bands do.

But honestly name 5 Christian bands that don't use any clean vocals.

I don't think it can be done. The intense growling and solos make this band. Clean vocals are not unique at all, and do not need to be encouraged. The lack of them made us so excited about this band anyway.

1. Living Sacrifice(their more recent stuff)
2. Vomitorial Corpulence
3. Mortal Treason(especially their last album)
4. Crimson Moonlight
5. Antestor

Done.

And I don't really see what's so wrong with clean vocals, especially with the way BTA is doing them. They're not doing them generically; they're doing it in an interesting way.

EXACTLY! I was really happy with the complete straight out METAL. Now they go like every other band and sing. i don't care if its not in the same way ever band does it, lately i've been quite upset about it again.
Now i'm gonna have to go look for anotehr band that is 100% scream/growl/METAL

Check out the bands I listed.

Just so you know, two are pure black metal and one is grindcore.

By the way, out of curiosity, are you emphasizing that BTA is no longer "METAL" now that they added clean vocals? Because that's what I got out of your post.

no, yeah, that came out really wrong.
They are the most metal band aropund right now, that i've heard.
I guess i wasn't thinking, i'm trying to say that i want metal that has no singing AT ALL.

Looking at that, what i've just said, i can see i am being really arrogent or something, not listening to a band because they have a few seconds of clean is dumb, but i'm just annoyed.

I thoroughly enjoy the clean vocals that I've heard and I dont think that they detract anything from a band.

I haven't ever really liked these guys and the new stuff just isn't doing anything to change that.

I just don't like them. They're talented and all and I love metal, but I just could never get into them.

Well Living Sacrifice and Mortal Treason are broken up now. And LS had lots of singing on some songs (but yes older ones). Antestor also has lots of slow, instrumental, and some singing in songs.

I never heard of Vomitorial Corpulence. Are they good, should I check them out? And I like a few Crimson Moonlight songs.

Well, you got me on those first three bands, but I still have no doubt that there are more than five Christian bands out there that do nothing but scream. They can't be all that rare.

Vomitorial Corpulence is, in a word, INTENSE! Very heavy stuff, possibly the heaviest Christian band out there. Their CDs are hard to find, but they do have a Myspace site, with at least three, maybe four songs on it.

*edit* I may be wrong, but I don't think The Chariot has many(if any) singing parts in their music, do they?

Not much, but sometimes he just kinda talks/yells...listen to Dialogue With A Question Mark, about a minute and a half into it. When he says "these precious diamonds."

I don't think I've ever heard clean vocals from August Burns Red.
