Well i hope that album is as creative and "dramatic" as TD, "Elegy" for example has that feeling of drama in it, i cn't really explain, and i mean the creativeness like classical, elegy is in parts, etc.
I'm looking forward to more solos and lead. |
Don't worry, they still keep the dramatic feel in their music. That's something that is a part of what they do, and they still have it. They've also gotten more brutal, less hardcore/metalcore-influenced, heavier, and, like I said, good clean vocals, not the crap you hear from Sinai Beach or whatever. And, when they do use them, they use them sparingly; it's unique in comparison to what you hear all the time nowadays.

Well, I really think you'll like it more than you think you will. It wasn't a bad move for the band to make, especially with the way they use them on the songs I've heard. That, and the clean vocals sound really good compared to Demon Hunter's, Haste The Day's, and Sinai Beach's.

The rest of the song makes up for it, but i am not enjoying the clean.
i know its different from the other bands (though i really like DH clean) but its just not right to me, it seems like they through it in there when it wasn't needed at all.
So, by hearing that song, i know this is going to be an amazing albnum and blow TD into the dust, but i remain dissapointed from the clean.
Though, you are right, i mean they for sure didn't overdo the clean, and its so much more original.
but i dunno, a little dissapointed right now.

Well, if you don't like how it sounds, that's fine(I disagree), but it's very unlikely they aren't going to go metalcore/hardcore on their fans. They're a metal band through and through.

I listened to it again just now, and i guess i don't hate the clean, it just seems out of place. but, for over half the album, i dunno.
Now i'm listening to The Great Fall, and it is sounding AMAZING.
Knowing myslef, i can get really upset about change (for real, really upset) but, i'm sure i'll be enjoying the clean before too long, cause thats how i usually work for some reason
and wow, Th Great Fall is turning out to be one of the most amazing songs ive heard and its only half done.

Yeah, that's what I meant. You'll get used to them eventually.

| But seriously thats a real letdown. First there was the Showdowns disc and it was completely terrible to what I have been expecting for the past two years, and no BTA is going to add clean vocals. I just hope it doesn't dominate any of the songs.

I seriously doubt they're gonna take away the growled vocals and let clean vocals dominate. That's just as much a part of BTA as the dramatic feel in their music is. They're not going to get rid of that. And I don't see the clean vocals as detracting; I see them as a whole new element to their music that, in my opinion, makes them even better. I think the clean vocals and the newly-added shred solos have really added a whole new, amazing dimension to the band's music.

| I don't see why everyone's so anti singing here. Sung parts make metalcore songs much more distinguishable from each other and add a great dimension to music.
That being said, the singing I heard in Autopsy fit in the song very well and didn't real go away from the screaming parts at all. The growling I heard sounds alot better than TD, so I might actually wanna buy this album.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |
