| Ohh. I see. Haha. Were you talking about the workprint version? If so, that'd explain the differences. WPs would be considered the "rough draft" of a movie. I think WPs are free aren't they? Still, WPs are very interesting to watch.

| It appears the director and the studio don't see eye to eye on how the film should be cut or what rating they should aim for. For the last month the internet has also been filled with rumors that the director was fired over this issue. A PG-13 rating is starting to look very likely. http://latinoreview.com/news/lionsga...-war-zone-5212 |

| Wow......that trailer........
This movie will not work with a PG-13 rating.
I'll wait for the unrated DVD. |

And now the cinematographer is saying everything is fine. The film is still going to be rated R and the director is still in place. |

| I'm not sure how I feel on this one. I'll go see it if not for the simple fact that I intend to see every movie leading up to The Avengers, but it should be really interesting to see how well they lead up to The Avengers and if they can tie all the characters together, especially Frank Castle.
I can't help but wonder how Frank and Captain America will get along.

| It's funny that this thread had 37 posts leading up to the films release, and zero posts since a month before it's release.
Did no one go see this film? (based off the box office, the answer is no)
Anyway, I just finally saw it tonight. I've had it from NetFlix for months. It's pretty bizarre. The good guys all played their parts very straight and dramatic, but the villains gave hammy performances. The violence looked like it was out The Story of Ricky (Ricky Oh). One scene would involve a sad Punisher regretting mistakes he'd made, and the next would involve the villain standing in front of a video of the US flag with patriotic music playing while he gives an absurdly cheesy speech about killing the Punisher.
I feel bad for most of the good guys because it seemed like they were making a different movie than the director and the bad guys. The good guys were making a good b-movie, and the director and bad guys were making a really awful, cheesy, and absurdly violent film.
Ooo here's a good analogy...I'll put it in Batman film terms...the guy playing the Punisher was making a "Dark Knight" translation of the Punisher, and the director and bad guys were making "Batman and Robin."
Rather than this film, I would have liked to have seen...
...what a different director could have done with some of these actors.and a similar story
...this film written and directed by the guy who did the 2004 version with Thomas Jane |

| Still haven't seen it. My friend, a comic book lover, really enjoyed it and thought it was pretty faithful to the characters (that said, he also thinks the latest two Batman movies were extremely accurate to the comics too).
I'll have to watch it soon.

| I did see this in theaters way back when it came out. What I loved about it was the gratuitous amounts of violence. But the original characters would of been better...

| Finally got it from Netflix last month (say on my desk for a month before I got around to watching it). I was very disappointed. Most of the acting was poor, the villains were not believable and un-intimidating, and the action--while ultra-violent--was done seemingly without any sense of style or purpose.
Almost as disappointing as Max Payne. |
