The Devils Rejects.

I searched the forum about 3 times and found no thread on this movie... (there might be a reason for that..., but oh well).
*edit* Actually, I have searched this forum multiple times in the past, not counting the times I searched today, I am convinced that there is no thread, but if there is already one, then I apologize for starting another one.

So, is there anyone else who enjoyed that movie? I know that its a pretty dark movie, but I was thoroughly entertained by it.
I hadnt seen any movie like it until I saw that one.

I liked House Of 1,000 Corpses but thought The Devils' Rejects was worthless. I didn't like the sadistic sexual scenes and I didn't think that they were necessary for the story. To me...it was Rob Zombie being controversial for the sake of being controversial. The story was weak, the acting was weak and it seemed to be a step backwards for him as a film maker.

I'm really hoping his remake of Halloween doesn't suffer from the same thing.

Maybe my opinion would be different if I had seen HO1kC, but I havnt.

Plus, until I saw that movie, I really hadnt seen alot of ultra-violent movies, so it is sort of a new (type of) movie to me in that respect.

Actually...House Of 1,000 Corpses isn't great either...but it's better than The Devil's Rejects. IMHO...they were both huge rip-offs of other movies...specifically The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Natural Born Killers. I felt like I had seen it before.

If this was the first movie like this that you have ever seen...I can understand how it may have made an impact. I just don't feel that either one of them was very good. After watching TDR I honestly started to wonder just exactly what is wrong with Mr. Zombie...is he that perverted and demented in his mind?

That's kinda what went through my mind about Eli Roth when I saw previews for Hostel.

Rob Zombie should hang up any idea of being a film maker due to the fact that he's nothing but a hack. He's much better at introducing the cult films on TCM at night.
