| CAn Someone Give Me A Biblical Passage That Refers To Youth Ministry? Hello Everyone,
I know this is a big debate, but I would like a very clear answer if possible. I feel called to be a youth pastor. Can someone give me a biblical passage that refers to youth ministry? |

| There are none that I know of that mention "youth ministry" in particular. There are pastors, teachers, deacons, bishop/overseers, evangelists, and maybe a few others. |

| I could only quote Daniel and His friends. They were trained during their teenage years in the academy for 3years, spent their time in fellowship (study, diet, prayer). 'til they went through a very crucial test of faith when the king ordered everebody to worship his image. Yet, because the Son of Man was with them, Nebuchadnezzar was persuaded that their God is God. They're youth ministers I think--ministering to old pagans.

| its not really specific, though, but you may use that passage for preaching or encouraging young leaders.

| Since the modern concept of "youth" or adolscense were completely foreign to the world until about 120 years ago, and they're still fairly limited to western societies, there are no verses that refer to youth ministry. Jewish men were considered adults at age 13 (still are). It will be very difficult to find passages refering to a ministry to a social class that didn't exist. |

| Yeah, remember are many gaps (language, time, culture, etc.) between between us and the people in the Bible.

Instead of going into the bible trying to find something to support your ideas or claims, read the bible for what it is trying to say. Your students will much more enjoy/support a youth ministry with a pastor that understands the Word and what it says, than someone who just grabbed a couple of bible verses to prove an argument.
Know that when you read the Bible you will come out with not answers, but more questions. And this is good. It means you are thinking. I hate to throw out this old euphimism but here we go "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime." If you want a successful youth ministry, read Scriptures and don't be afraid to ask questions. Encourage your students to do the same.
Ask more questions. You will never find a bible verse about youth ministry. ever.

| If by "Youth Minister" you mean "Young Pastor/Preacher/Teacher" Timothy would be a good example. He was young. In 1 Tim 4:11 - 12 he was told:
11 These things command and teach.
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
He was also called to be an example of the believers, in word ect....
With youth there is always the danger of being inexperienced and that is sometimes combined with pride and pride goes before the fall just as pride was what took Lucifer down. 1 Tim 3:
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
It is a good thing to desire to serve the Lord in any ministry. An individual seeking to serve God in any capasity must be mindful of the pitfalls, know him/herself, trust God and walk in the Spirit and not rely on his own stregth. No matter how old we get we still don't know it all. |
