Certainly not all, but you can't seriously argue that they're not responsible for driving prices up of a lot of American products and bankrupting or starting to bankrupt many of our companies... The union was there originally to protect the rights of the worker, but they're too powerful now.

they do bear some of the responsibility, yes, but not completely.

Why don't we regulate the companies directly and remove unions.

If you want capitalism, it would be hypocritical to disallow capitalist unions. If you want socialism, why not remove them entirely and do the job they do through regulation?
