| Savannah, Georgia is really nice (though it's really far out of your way, it could be it's own trip). I wish I could remember the name of many of the places that I visited. Paula Dean's resturant is there (in case either of you watch the food channel) but there are no reservations and you have to get there fairly early to ensure yourself a table. But I stupidly can't remember the names of many places. |

| Yea, I didn't realize how far out of the way Savannah was. I was thinking it was a little more centrally located in Georgia. We're probably gonna pass on it. We're either going to find something a little closer (something central alabama/georgia that isn't beach? anyone?) or just stick with a 5 day honeymoon.
How long was your honeymoon? 5 days seems kinda short to me..

| That's exciting that you are booked!
And....I would definitely try for a few more days. Even at a modest hotel close to home. Or go home and don't tell anyone. *wink* Andrew is going to pick the honeymoon for us but I'm sure we're getting as many days away as possible. *grin* |

| Yea, I was shooting for 10. I really wanted to go to Destin for 5 and then Savannah (or somewhere else) for 5. Two different sceneries, two different hotels, two different experiences, one freakin awesome honeymoon. Our budget is pretty modest though. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the advice! |

| Nice. We're worried about taking that much time off of work and how we'll pay for it. We're hoping to do a modest honeymoon and then take a REALLY sweet 1 year anniversary somewhere.

| That would be great! It would certainly be a vacation - you will have had time to settle into being married a bit. Have you ever been on a cruise? I think that's something we'll do someday...it just looks nice. |

| If both of you LOVE nature, Florida has some of the absolute best national forests in the nation. |

| The town of Fairhope, AL is beautiful. My uncle got married down there five or six years ago. It's quiet, on Mobile Bay, but definatly not a beach town. It's just a very...artsy, relaxed place. Might be something to at least Google/ask around about. |

| Ok, so we're looking for something west of Destin for the second 5 days. Pensacola, Orange beach, Mobile, etc? Anyone know of anything cool around these places? I'm looking for something 'more than just a hotel'.
I checked out fairhope and it looks awesome, but perhaps a little pricey.

| Hmm, if you guys both loved camping I could give tons of ideas (Florida has amazing national forests).
Other than that, let me see. I guess Pensecola might be the best bet. I depends on what you're really looking for. |

| We're looking for a non-touristy kinda place. We'd like to be able to stay for 5 nights for $500-600. Nice, quiet relaxed place to kick back for a few days. Doesn't neccisarily have to be beach since we're going to be in Destin for 5 days already.
