I'm engaged!

Hey guys,

Havent posted in here in a while but figured since I took up so much of your time with ring/proposal questions that I owe you an ending..

I proposed on December 1st following all the ideas in my other thread. Everything went great except for some things that truly made it a "shane" proposal:

It was so dark that we couldn't see the bricks.
It was windy so we had to literally tape rose pedals to the ground.
I had her read a brick that said "in Memory of Dear Aunt Susan" because I couldn't find the right brick.
She said yes before I could ask.
I dropped the ring when I opened the box!
She grabbed the ring and put it on her finger instead of allowing me to do so.

Oh...and the kicker!

She reached into my jacket pocket and felt the ringbox as we walked into the resteraunt! So we both just pretended that it neer happened.

Like I said, all went well...but certain things like this had to happen or just wouldn't have been us.

We are set to get married on May 19th here in Bham and I can't wait! I'm sure i'll be posting a lot to get advice on wedding/honeymoon stuff. Thanks guys!
-shane

Congratulations, Shane. Your proposal story is hilarious.

If I knew that she had felt the ring box, I would have had a nice dinner and then taken her back to her house and called it a night. Then in a few weeks, when getting gas and she was in the car, go in and pay, get a cheap burger/taquito/hot dog and take it out to her and say "Hey I got you something to eat and for dessert I got you this...." Keep her on her toes!

Congratulations its pretty funny what happened.
