Oh...I went to a flea market this past weekend and got a box set with the four original Herbie the Love Bug movies on DVD for $15. I was thrilled. |

| Hard as I try not to, I caught the flue. Spent 4 days in the hospital. Right now, I feel like warmed over doggie doo doo if you know what I mean. Ha!
Yesterday morning was a bit tough but I made it to the pharmacy and after I took my drugs, I felt much stronger. I have hope now and I understand my illness and treatment better.
I need to post about my experience in the hospital because of the business changes they made there.
This hospital has been around all of my life. They must have changed their name at least 4 times by now. This last change, they merged with the University. I never adapted myself to this last change but having gone there, there is no denying that I must now make the conversion. It was like invasion of the body snatchers. The skeleton of the building was there but nothing was the same. The most shocking difference, for me, was the man riding the hall sweeper like a riding lawn mower up and down the halls. This is not any hospital I can ever recall. It was an altered universe.
Old things have been swept away. A new generation is in charge. I still recall this hospital back in its hay day but now that is wiped away.
Odd, it was, that there were more workers than patients. I recall the days of horrible waiting lines, emergency rooms packed with people waiting for hours. The waiting room was pretty empty. I was maybe the 3rd patient there. It came as no surprise to me that, when I returned home, the next mornings news was that this hospital would be laying people off.
I am going to take a bit of a rest and then work on that plantet Krypton assignment of mine. .

| the phantom zone The Phantom Zone was an accidental result of a scientific experiment done by Superman's dad, Jor-El.
Jor-El was attempting to punch a hole into space to make an entry way into another dimention but the zone turned out to be a blank of nothingness, no gravity, no temperature, no light, no time, no need to breathe, only nothingness. Bound by positive and negative energy, once created, the portal was self sustaining. Anything that gets close to the membrane of the zone, gets sucked into the zone and floats about. Things can be removed from the zone by reversing the polarity.
The rules of the planet caused Jor-El to submit all of his scientific findings to the planet council. Zor was the man in charge of Technology. Zor always turned down Jor-El's discoveries, confiscated them and squirreled them away for Zor's personal use.
When Zor decided to take over the planet to rule it, anyone who got in Zor's way, Zor shoved into the Phantom Zone.
Jor-El found the Phantom Zone and released the people. Then, the people who had been in the Phantom Zone put Zor, his girlfriend and his muscle man into the Phantom Zone. They tried to destroy the zone by throwing it into the molten center of the planet. Since the zone could not be destroyed, it destroyed the planet instead.
When we see them in the movie, presumably an explosion has released the 3 evil doers from the Phantom Zone and you know the story from there. .
