What about 7 string guitars?

Synth tracking is a lot better.

Do you have 7 fingers to play all at once with?

Pianos require less care in regards to tuning.

Pianos(and synth) provide tone consistancy, and exact distortion when its required(meaning, notes are always correct unless you distort in through a synth, and even then its exact).

Go to this site... ARGH

I have lost the location; found it through google once, but anyway:
I swear to God that I saw this; a site that polled music teachers and what they did. BY FAR they believed that piano should be a first instrument and that it was more usful than a guitar.

Can you lead song service with a guitar as well as you could a keyboard?

Are you talking about something like a Worship service? If so, most definitely, I do it all the time.
I guess I better stick up for my instrument here...
1. Guitar's have different (and in my opinion, better ) sounds than keyboards...and don't tell me that a keyboard can duplicate a guitar's sound, cuz I've never seen one that could do it very well.
2. Guitar's are more portable-you can take them lots of places you can't take keyboards (easily, at least).

3. Yeah, but guitar's are a lot easier to tune.

4. 7 Fingers aren't needed-we can play open strings or barre chords
5. Guitarists have more fun

Whoops, I guess that's more than one per post...oh well, sorry

Who's to say thats true? I have lots of fun with piano.

Pianos will not make your fingers bleed and cut them open. It will also strenthen both hands a lot.

Keyboards will strengthen your arms and back if you have to lug around a 50+ lb. keyboard to practice and gigs. Ahh... the joys of being a keyboard player.

Keyboards have MORE sounds than guitars. Just try finding a guitar that can sound like a Rhodes, a Wurly, a piano, a whole string section, and a boys choir..... I don't think you will.

Not to mention all the kicking synth stuff found on today's keyboards... I just can't get enough of the pulsating pad sounds.

Actually, you can fit any steel string guitar with a synth pickup that can control any synth with a midi connection. Tracking slows down a little bit when playing faster, but they're getting better all the time.

[teasingsarcasamwithnooffese]
That's why drum solos are so awsome compared to a sax or piano or guitar solo
