Ok, I was impatient and decided to get down to it right away.

This is my 2nd time trying to improvise ever.. I just started going through scales and keys and stuff.

Anyway, here it is with the Ballad backing track. Only used 1 scale.

Nu metal, rock ballad, and baby blues minor all sound good.

Nice stuff, Building429_boy

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight.

Pretty good for your second time trying to improvise. I may give that track a try as well.

You mean for putting the actual tracks in? That may be a good idea... I'll wait for your response before taking action, though.

Sorry for popping in here out of the blue but I love the vibe that the funk track has.

Has any info been released as to what key each track is in?

The Rock Ballad is in the key of C, but that's the only one I've tried to figure out .

I could sit down and figure them out but with the author right here it seems like a waste of time.

Yah.
Lol, I need to take some time to listen to the tracks and give my input as to which one.

Alright, I vote one of these:
The Stone Blues track
The Nu-Metal track
Rock Ballad
Rock in D minor

I got a little time away from my kids today, so here is my rough draft. I thought I would ask for critique on the basic melody. I think that it might be a bit too "scaly". I know there are a few wrong notes in there and I need to work on the recording mix (like I said, its a rough draft). This is pretty much my second attempt at an improvisation, so be kind.

Here's the Bb blues take that I did a while back.
I'm pretty sure I used my Tele for this one and probably the Tweed and 1x12 settings on the Genesis 1.

I liked the basic melody line, it was pretty good in my ears .

Mmmm, I like it, Gtrdave. Works very well... Can't get enough o' that Tele and Fender sound... (Well, Genesis 1 imitation, same thing.)

Here's my take on the Rock Ballad, I didn't listen to any of yours, lest I be creatively hindered by your catchy hooks.

I just put a bunch of sad lyrics in my head and sang with my geetar.

As far as technical details, this is with the PODxt Live, direct ot the computer, a Mesa Boogie Mark IV model, with a tube screamer in front, some chorus and delay.

Hmmm, I like it . It sounds really good, and I love the tone you had!

Billy Gibbons just called, he wants to know how to get tone like yours.

I was almost sad when the Mp3 cut off at 1:11,
