I'm taking my Christmas money and buying a keyboard. I don't want to spend more then $300(unless I bought the Yamaha from Sweet Water). I've got my eye on a Yamaha YPG-225. I want something that's easy to use, that sounds really real. Like a real panio. Or something from target Like Casio Keyboard Kit - CTK900PPK or the Casio 61-Key MIDI Keyboard - CAS CTK900 If it helps at it, I'm a beginner, my Grandmother will teach me, and I already play an instrument, the guitar. I'd like to by one tomorrow, either at the after Christmas sale or online.

Yamaha DGX line are good keyboards. 76 keys until you get into the 500 line. I paid around $300 for mine. Goes well with my Hammond XK2.

You'd do well to get something that sounds "really real" for under $300 HOWEVER the Yamaha models will provide the best, most realistic voices. I agree that the DGX line are decent, so is that YPG you have your eye on. The only thing with any lower end keyboard is that the touch isn't that great. Fine for learning though.
