Never in the Same Room Twice

Never in the Same Room Twice
Forward further! The night snaps at our heels,
we feel the pulse of a planet rumbling
down the corridors of capillaries and
veins, and we remain steadfast in
our commitment to find shelter, and
you know a place just around the bend,
but I wonder how much has happened
since you last saw its cracks and corners.
The globe writhes in the endless night
of this noble expanse that presses upon
the cracks and crevices of our space and
time, the temperature climbs as we round
the bend, the year ends, the seasons cycle,
the sun shines on rich and poor but only in
fits of length and fervor. You're never in the
same room twice, even when this old globe
finds the stars aligned right as they almost were
on a night a year ago that found you in a similar
pose under a similar amount of solar light, but
you're never in the same room twice.
Even if you find the right corner, the right
curve, the continents have shifted, inch
by imperceptible inch, the centimeters lose
their prefix as the plates collide and cleave,
gain another as the earth suffers tremors
stretched across the ages.
Even the stars are on their way out, closing their
eyes to rest, shifting their suburbs around the spiral of a
galaxy that is always in motion, and it's one in a few
million, the wallflower stars have panic attacks trying to
find the edge by which to haunt the outskirts of the
dance floor. The tiles down at the Jester's Lounge have
been graced by many feet, but the man on the skins can
never play the same precise beat, and the floor is grafted
to ground which is etched upon the crust which was thrust
up from a molten core of a planet in motion, so on any given
night, any given song is entirely unique, every step is
independent of those before and beyond, up and further
out, on and on, until the end of time.

Darling, just to feel your hand in mine,
feeling you tremble the slightest bit as
your hands slide up and down my spine,
as if I am your only hope in a world turned
to sand, the ground sliding away beneath
our feet, you feel you must cling to me like
a ship at sea puts its trust in the Almighty,
I am your surrogate for a Father you worship
in Spirit and Truth, but He seems so far away,
and we are this allegory of Savior & Bride,
so hide yourself in me, the world is indeed
shifting sand and we are going down, down
into the ocean of granular waves, and there
is a Leviathan that weaves through the earth.

Ahh... I enjoyed this one so much. It was kind of like the saying, "she never wears the same outfit twice" except more intellectual. And I just love the ending.

Fantastic.
