No, Kirk wouldn't have gotten himself in the situation in the first place. or he would have strangled the guards with their own intestines and escaped.

But, really, they're so different, it doesn't matter which is better. Any ship they both captained together would explode from the awesomeness.

You think that thing holds 400+ crewmen? You really think that all of that space aboard is for the massive amounts of crew you never see?

Kirk could make the Enterprise go by the power of his ego alone, but he doesn't want to put Scotty out of a job.
