Rom 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
I know that this verse is not about Christmas but I think it sets forth a principle that is very important:
When God wants something done He, on His own initiative, causes it to be done.
And so my thoughts concerning Christmas are simple: God intervened directly in human history in the person of Jesus.
As He said in Exodus: Exo 3:7 Then the LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings,
Exo 3:8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
He has done just that through Jesus Christ. All that remains is for the spiritual reality of our redemption to become a physical one. God has seen our suffering, even if we fail to see it ourselves, has been moved by compassion to save us, and has accomplished it.
All praise surely belongs to Him!
In Christ,
Chris |

| A manger is no place for a baby, but a perfect place for a lamb.
Let us not forget that Jesus came into this world to die for us. It was his sole purpose here and the reason he was born. |

We two kings of ori-ent-are

| I love these verses!
Isaiah 9:6-7
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.
Praise the Lord!

"He was unlimited by time, yet He came in the fullness of time;
He was unlimited by space, yet He dwelt amongs us;
He was limitless in majesty, yet He took on human form [flesh];
He was limitless in authority, yet He became a servant;
He was matchless in holiness, yet He bore our sins--
He did it all out of heart of ceaseless grace, endless mercy, and everlasting love." Philippians 4:5-11 (NKJV) 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Hebrews 12:1-3 (ESV) 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.
He came as a baby in the manger who could have destroyed the world as when He flooded it, but instead He showed us great mercy; He lived amongst us and then died on the Cross of Calvary to redeem us, so that God throughout all eternity will be glorified! To God alone, Be all the Glory!

| Oh, oh! I wanna make a non-English post!
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht!
Alles schläft, einsam wacht
Nur das traute hochheilige Paar,
Holder Knabe mit lockigem Haar,
Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh,
Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh.
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht!
Gottes Sohn, o wie lacht
Lieb’ aus deinem holdseligen Mund,
Da uns schlägt die rettende Stund’,
Christ, in deiner Geburt,
Christ, in deiner Geburt!
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht!
Die der Welt Heil gebracht,
Aus des Himmels goldenen Höhn,
Uns der Gnaden Fülle läßt sehn,
Jesum in Menschengestalt,
Jesum in Menschengestalt!
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht!
Wo sich heut alle Macht
Väterlicher Liebe ergoß,
Und als Bruder huldvoll umschloß
Jesus die Völker der Welt,
Jesus die Völker der Welt!
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht!
Lange schon uns bedacht,
Als der Herr vom Grimme befreit
In der Väter urgrauer Zeit
Aller Welt Schonung verhieß,
Aller Welt Schonung verhieß!
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht!
Hirten erst kund gemacht;
Durch der Engel Halleluja
Tönt es laut von fern und nah’;
Christ der Retter ist da,
Christ der Retter ist da!
That's Silent Night in the original German.

Today Christ is born. Today a savior appears.
Today the Angels sing, The Archangels rejoice.
Today the righteous rejoice, saying: Glory to God in the highest, Alleluia. |

| John 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
And in German, just for the heck of it.
