They would, but I think that' it's technically impossible to put a true blacklight in Christmas tree lights. But they do sell purple lights to give you the black light feel.

Ah, I was wondering about that Canadian-like spelling of colo[u]r...

I like colored lights. My mom hates them though, so she always uses white on the family tree.
