My mom likes some of the heavy stuff. Pillar, Skillet, Underoath (very amazingly enough she doesn't mind them!) Decyfer Down, Seventh Day Slumber, TFK.. She also likes softer stuff.. but sometimes you gotta have the mix.. lol

(I was surprised when she said that she likes Underoath a little.. I was VERY amazed.. lol but that's awsome.. hah)

That is amazing. I listen to basically everything, and if my mom knew some of the stuff I listen to.....

Okay. I just don't want to get sucked into the black hole of CPF again. If it was a blog or two, and give a piece of advice in the Guitar thread, I'd be okay. However, the posting every 30 seconds in some meaningless (but still fun) 'see if you can count' thread eats up my time without me realizing where it went.

If I could stay away from just CPF, it might work, but I don't have that much self control.

I've played for 3 years, and 1 week. It's easy to remember, because I started playing on Thanksgiving, the same day that my mom told me that she was pregnant with my youngest sister.

Do you play? Or do you just hang out here?

Yes, I've played for 5 years, private lessons for 4. Though it seems like the ones with no lessons are better than me.

No, you're not sorry, and I don't blame you, either.

I never took lesons, so I was forced to throughly understand EVERYTHING before moving on. *I* think that it was better, but I don't really say that a whole lot because I now *teach* guitar lessons.

Oh, I was made to understand everything, it's just I'm not good at listening/playing.

Wow, you're teaching? I hope to start soon....just to give others a love of guitar, and some cash. And who knows, it may be a witnessing thing. *shrug*

The cash is just about the only reason that I'm doing it. I love guitar, and I love to teach, but again, it's the time thing.

Witnessing with teaching guitar isn't something that I'm able to do right now, since the only people that I teach are in our church, but ya never know.....

The hardest thing about teaching is going to fast at first, and scaring someone off. I did that once, and she quit guitar, and took up soccer.

I started keeping a journal in high school (1987) and kept it faithfully up until about three years ago when I lost ALL of my notebooks. 13 years of journaling got lost...that really sucked.

I was given a warning. Which was much appreciated. I doubt I would of ever began a new one if it had been CPF shipped. I don't know...maybe someone should of given you a warning. At least you can start a new one.

I teach piano. I sometimes get a guitar student but I only know chords so I make sure not to keep them once they know all the chords.

Hi J_Freek!

Welcome back. I'll be praying for you. Hope you get a youth group you can enjoy. But remember the focus is the Lord. It is sad when a new person comes to a church they don't feel like part of it. You can reach out by getting to know them just as you did with me.

I want to thank you for encouraging me when I first started. You seem to be able to reach out and draw me in and you were very friendly. I pray that you will be able to bring out that same personality into what ever setting you get into. You have a very friendly disposition on-line. Don't hide it.

Well, today was really slow, except I baked Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Which probably isn't very good, considering my dad and I are on a diet.

I'm trying to learn some songs on the guitar...Amazing Grace, and some crazy Dropped D tuning fingerpicking songs. I think I can finally Drop D Tune by ear.

The Edmonton Oilers are facing up against the (North) Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow. It will be crazy. We'd better win, is all I can say. At least we pulled out of our 3 game losing streak, with a 4-0 win, the 20th shut out in Dwayne Roloson's NHL career.
