I spent the weekend in Sackville. It's such a pretty town.. very tiny!

the economy is not growing anymore...in fact, houses have been losing value and will continue to do so(but not at a rate fast enough for us to be able to buy anytime soon)....so to buy a house now(even if we could afford one) would only result in us losing money....
so, i've got a great idea for everyone in canada who thinks Alberta is the land of fluffy bunnies; WAKE UP!....there is a price for living here, and it is indeed very steep...
*and yes, you did hit a sore spot. | I kinda laughed when I read this. You basically just need to budget better. My 19 year old cousin just bought a condo. He's a 2nd year apprentice, not even making the big bucks yet, but he saved up a down payment in a year while paying rent at his parents house. Alberta is prosperous for the hardworking and I'm really convinced its the best province.
While we're talking about down east, I would like to visit there sometime. The only time I have been in eastern canada, is transferring in Toronto as I go to other places.

| see, your starter condo in Calgary is about $300k....again, add all the other expenses in, and come fall when there will be only me making money, there is no way....we've tried to budget for it to see if it's do-able....it's not...
"while paying rent at his parents house"
gee, i woulda liked an option like that...parents never charge their kids as much as market rate......i went off to college straight after high school, and my parents left the country.....
