Well, that's nothing bad. The Roman Catholic Church was always seperate from the four other churches of the Pentarchy. Rome, Alexandria, Jerusalem, Antioch, and Constantinople were the five seperate churches that made up the Christian Church way back when. Seperate but unified.

Which is why a compromise should be made. One of the biggest problems that caused the schism is that the Roman church wanted control of the councils. The churches came together as brothers, none above the other, and Rome was allowed to go first because it had the most members due to the amount of land it covered (the Western world basically). But they didn't mean that as authority, someone had to be first and why not them? So a submission to equal authority would be in order during convening councils. Though that may be just another schism waiting to happen.
