| I am in Love With bogner, yep they had a used one at the guitar center for about $2300, the shiva 2x12. Its a 60 watter handed wired running 6L6's. I have heard this were great amps, but never got my hands one one till today. The guy said it was the loudest amp in the store, he was not kdding that thing will cut people heads off in a minute. Man now i am dieing to get my hands on one of this bad boys. So i am pondering selling the mesa for one. though i think i would get the one with EL-34s. Oh it was great. ANyone else try on of these amps? |

now I am sure you can boo and hiss and say how wrong and silly I am, but what it comes down to is that the POD just does not have the warmth of a quality tube amp.
IF it did, why would tone gods like John Mayer and Eric Clapton still be using those 'outdated' tube amps instead of PODs?

Edit: I started writing the problems with your post, but I'll just advise you to do a search on the POD in the amp and effects forums.

I've never understood the fuss about Bogner because the one band I've seen live that used Bogner (a band called The Chemistry) was really generic (to the point of boredom) and so loud that they sounded better outside the building than inside it. | because they can afford to spend to get the precise tone they want. John Mayer is using with Two Rock Signature Custom Reverbs and he's used a 1960s Fender Vibro King, and a Dumble Overdrive Special as well as other amps. If that's something you can afford, or that's what you really need, then go for it. Ultimately there will be compromisers. There will be some of us that don't need to (or simply can't) spend three or four thousand dollars on an amp or a guitar to get the sound we want. |
