The Ashes...

So it all kicks off in less than 12 hours, anyone have any predictions?
I think we are going to find it very hard to win the series but I think we can draw and keep the ashes. I hope it is as good a contest as last time, it will be interesting to see how it goes.

My prediction is 2-2

I'm expecting 4-0 to the Aussies!

Especially with the way the first test is going!

Go the Aussies.

The first test has been a bit like Australia versus Flintoff rather than Australia versus England!

I think we will win easily. England simply is not good enough. The only reason they won last time was because of Australia's selectors poor decisions, and mistakes by Ponting.

I am dissapointed that we decided to bat again. It would have been a huge pyschological blow to England to have lost by an innings and a bit.

Australia v England, 3rd Test, Perth, 5th day

Warne stars as Australia regain the Ashes

December 18, 2006

Australia 244 and 5 for 527 dec beat England 215 and 350 (Cook 116, Bell 87, Pietersen 60*, Flintoff 51, Warne 4-115) by 206 runs

well...so much for that

well for a start the Aussies were better!
Yes we should have played Panesar and Read from the start instead of Giles and Jones. yes we should have played more warm-up matches to get used to the conditions. yes we have been unlucky with injuries over the last year but basically we were playing the best team in the world. A team which includes the best bowler in the world (Warne) and the best Batsman in the world (Ponting).

I just hope that by 2009 Panesar and Pieterson will have matured into our own Warne and Ponting

Oh and you have to bear in mind that the English are the most experienced losers at the highest level in the sporting world!
