Plays/ Musicals

My school is currently performing "The Man who Came to Dinner" for our fall play. We were told yesterday that instead of doing a spring play we are doing a musical. Which ones do you guys like better? and what is you favorite play/musical?

I've played in the pit orchestra for four musicals so far. Pippin, Footloose the Musical, Bye Bye Birdie, and You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.

While being rather disturbing... Pippin sure had some great music.

Um, I'm not sure. I like musicals but think over all, plays are better. I've been in 3 musicals and 2 plays.

I think I preferr plays... in HS did one of each plus a load of sketches in the Boy Scouts...a lot of Monty Python ripoffs... like the mouse organ (christmas themed "cat organ" doing "silent night") ... which we did for a highschool talent show...

In HS did bit parts for "Anything Goes" and was the geeky Juror (can't remember the number) in "12 Angry Men"

I took a stage combat class in my second highschool and did a lot of fencing...and some broadsword work.... I couldn't do quarterstaff or wrestling because I ust finished Basic Training and couldn't NOT hit the other person ... fun stuff... I was even stabbed in the mouth while fencing...we had no protective gear... but I almost cut off the guys head working with broadswords It was fun to run around the school campus with DIY broadswords (2inch x 4foot sheets of steel with a handle) swinging at eachother

Out of school I eventually got into indie film and did voiceover and extra work on my last big project. But I think I'm more useful behind the camera... last movie I worked on was a D level scifi-horror flick ("Last Bikini On Earth") and I just did some still photographs... My first bikini shoot actually

I've never done a play. We always do musicals. I've been in Suessical, Jekyll and Hyde and we're currently putting together a production of Thoroughly Modern Mille. I love it. I don't think I could ever pick a favrite musical...

Eh.... I've never been in either. All my friends are choir kids, so they hate it when I say this, but I find plays to be far superior to musicals. Both are great though.

My school did Oscar Wilde's "The Important of Being Earnest." It was wonderful.

There's something so great about high school musicals. I find them much more enjoyable than plays, mostly.

I just know, I like to act, but vocally not so good. Musicals, I won't be in. But, I like watching them. They all need talent. So BOTH are great and awesome in my eyes.
